The first sectional meet of the new season took place yesterday in beautiful Fitchburg, MA.

For levels 6 and above a minimum score of 31 is needed to qualify for the Sectional meet. Level 4 athletes do not need a qualifying score and they do not receive place awards for individual events – only AA

Members of the Springfield Turnverein Gymnastics Team recently competed in the AAU Jr. Olympic Games held in Knoxville, TN. For the team competition, the STV placed second, earning the Silver Medal. Members of the team that competed are Brittany Laflamme, Marissa Verallis, Stefanie Littlefield, Taylor Schwab, Kristyn Shank, Alex Watkins, Dalton Shank, Joe Viens and Steve Lucia. Seven of these athletes also competed individually, with Brittany Laflamme and Alex Watkins being awarded gold medals making them National All-Around Champions in their respective age and level categories.

WEBSITE UPDATES
I apologize for the current state of the results page; I'm in the process of going AJAX and Web 2.0 and all that silly 'keeping up with the Jone'ses' stuff. The reality is that right now this site is klunky and relatively non-functional; in particular the results and schedule areas need to be much more intuitive and useful (this is where the AJAX comes in).
So, my point? At this precise moment the results page looks like poo (raw unadulterated data) HOWEVER, soon it will be sorted and sortable and searchable etc etc...the schedule page will allow queries by point and click with a calendar widget blah blah blah...stay tuned!

NATIONAL TURNFEST COMING JUNE 27th THRU JULY 1st!
Apparently the 'Offical' STV website is down indefinitely, so the best current source is via the Clinton TV site: www.clintonturners.com/images/Nationals.pdf . The excitement grows (and is quite palpable) as this tremendous event makes its way to Agawam.
